WarnerMedia and Comic-Con: The perfect duo

23 Jul 2019 - By WarnerMedia Staff

With over 130,000 attendees, Comic-Con International: San Diego was both the hottest and coolest place to be over the weekend. WarnerMedia’s presence was seemingly everywhere, showcasing everything from life-sized hot dog bull riding, to the largest-ever collection of Batman costumes and vehicles, to appearances by the stars of “Game of Thrones.”

Let’s break down the action and give you a feel for what it was like at this year’s event:

Batman becomes a hall of famer

For 80 years, the Caped Crusader has been hard at work fighting crime and protecting innocent lives. On the eve of the 50th San Diego Comic-Con, Batman was inducted into the Comic-Con Character Hall of Fame before some of the very people who helped contribute to the worldwide success of this pop-culture icon. Read all about this “black carpet” event, as well as the exciting Batman-themed activities, here.

Warner Bros. Television Group: Teasers, trailers, previews

Warner Bros. Television Group was plenty busy at Comic-Con this year, premiering a plethora (that’s right, we said plethora) of offerings for many of their premium-content shows.

In addition, the trailer for “IT: Chapter Two” premiered at “Scare Diego” during Comic-Con. Conan O’Brien hosted a special panel discussion, and there was an exclusive autograph signing as well. As you can see below, things got pretty creepy:

HBO: From Westworld to Westeros and beyond

HBO took fans to all corners of the fantasy realm at Comic-Con, with exciting events for monster hits such as “Game of Thrones” and “Westworld,” as well as upcoming shows “Watchmen” and “His Dark Materials.”

“His Dark Materials,” Adapted from Philip Pullman’s award-winning masterpiece trilogy of the same name, premiered the official trailer at Comic-Con, and you can find photos from the show here.

“Watchmen” is fast approaching (it premieres this October), and creator Damon Lindelof and his team unleashed a thrilling trailer to eager fans.

Fans also got to return to “Westworld,” as the wildly curious season 3 trailer premiered, as well as new character posters for the latest entry of the hit show.?

The show may be finished, but fans of “Game of Thrones” got an up-close look at the stars of the hit show with a special panel and autograph signing.

For Cartoon Network, it was all about the premiere of “Steven Universe: The Movie,” which is set to air Monday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. ET/PT. The official trailer dropped at Comic Con.

And it wouldn’t be “Steven Universe” without awesome music. There was a live performance at Comic-Con of “True Kinda Love,” the new song from the movie, and you can watch it here. Plus, you can stream the single here.

Fans turned out in droves, dressed as their favorite characters from the show, and there was even a costume contest to showcase the best of the best.

In addition, there was an exclusive panel and autograph signing to promote the upcoming (and very mysterious) Cartoon Network series “Infinity Train,” which makes its debut on August 5. You can see the entire premiere episode by clicking the link above.

Fans of the long-running hit “Robot Chicken” got to see a preview of season 10, and everyone loved the “Rick and Morty Rickflector”, which turned them into an avatar and sent them through a portal right into the “Rick and Morty” universe.
